Volunteer to Defend Immigrants

As immigration enforcement continues to escalate, we’re building a network of volunteers to support immigrants in Northern California. We are seeking licensed attorneys—with and without immigration backgrounds—and other non-legal community members motivated to protect our neighbors’ families.

Use this form to express your interest and learn more. Please note we are still building this initiative and will reach out once we’re ready to launch and opportunities become available.

Legal Assistance, including Pro Se Workshops (immigration experience not required); Rapid Response (must be a practicing attorney); and Attorney of the Day.

  • Rapid response is extremely needed for capacity building, and you don’t need to be an immigration attorney, but you must be willing to:

  • Attend a virtual rapid response training

  • Complete a virtual removal defense basics training (if non-immigration atty)

  • You will have support with a follow-up call to provide greater context for what to expect from Sacramento logistics

Non-Legal Assistance to help support and walk alongside immigrants as they navigate the process.  (Accompaniment, legal/court observer)
